BLEPHARITIS TREATMENT.

What is blepharitis?

An eye problem that is quite common in older adults is a skin condition called blepharitis . In drastic cases, it can also lead to the ocurence of stye’s , irritation/inflammation of the conjunctiva or cornea .

Blepharitis

can be quite a chronic problem that may persist anything from  2 or 3  of months to a few years.

You will probably realise you need some kind of blepharitis treatment if the rims of your eyes become red, itchy, irritated, burning or stinging, or if it feels like  a foreign body in them. Losing ones  eyelashes and  extra sensitivity to light are other symptoms and it is not uncommon for there to sometimes be a mucous type discharge

Dust, smoke, or other substances that cause allergies can lead to sore eyes and Blepharitis.

Other things to avoid are:

harsh cleansing agents

rubbing or touching your eyes during the day

Avoid air conditioning as this can often dry your eyes out and result in further disruption to your tear film
. Blepharitis is usually only a minor irritation and Blepharitis treatment is often quite simple.
